Cucumber

What is the deal with Cucumber? If I smell it I feel sick. If it's near my food then that food normally doesn't get touched. The main issue with it is the smell, to me it has a strong and vile smell but others say they can't smell it or it has no smell.

Any idea why people that love it don't seem to be able to smell it? Can only cool kids smell it?

I don't like cucumber either, horrible texture and taste.

People think I'm weird as I like eating sticks of celery raw, dipped in sugar :confused:

. They're nicer in stews and soups though.

Also love cucumber, a salad wouldn't be the same without it.

I do, i love the flippin things especially when chopped into thin slices...i then put them on a plate and sprinkle a little bit of salt around them....bloody marvellous and awesome

It doesn't actually make me feel sick, but I absolutely hate it, and don't even like ham salad rolls etc with it in... I can tell straight away.

So as far as I am concerned you are certainly NOT weird!

Cucumber is great but I'd say there's very little smell or taste to it, it's mostly water. Oddly perhaps I'm not all that keen on melon, it's ok but nothing special.

A slice of cucumber in a G&T is amazing. Totally transforms the whole drink.

A friend of mine loves the taste of cucumber and cheese sandwiches, but not the texture of the cucumber. She makes them up then leaves them in the fridge for a few hours before removing the cucumber. Very odd.

I used to eat whole cucumbers when I was a kid. Absolutely loved the stuff, have no idea why as it's not exactly full of flavour!
