Played this last night and thought thay many of you would enjoy it, so I'm surprised it doesn't have its own thread!

The game is predominantly a series of boss fights quite reminiscent of those in the metal slug series - tough but not as hard as some of the reviews made out, although I'd guess we got slightly less than half way through. The big selling point is the 1930s cartoon visual style that really has to be seen in video to be appreciated.

Some gameplay (perhaps not demonstrating how ridiculous the bosses get):

Well worth checking out! :)

Xbone only I'm afraid :(

There are a few run and gun levels, two per 'world' I think, with each world containing ~6 bosses, 3 worlds in total plus a finale (from what I could tell). I probably preferred the bosses, they were all so weird and twisted it was great fun seeing what happens next.

I played 2 player co-op which was great fun although potentially made some bits more difficult. We kept being thwarted by this dragon who's fire balls split into more projectiles if you hit them... kind of hard with two of you when all the platforms keep moving all over the place! At least the game has the courtesy of giving you 3 hit points minimum per boss.

How did you find the "gunplay"? Totalbiscuit had issues with a lack of "weight" for want of a better word...no impressive sound effects for each weapon and only a small flash to indicate impact, with no stagger or interrupt.

I had no issues like that whatsoever. The controls were fine and hit detection seems fair to me. Since you are spamming your weapon all the time I don't think you'd want overbearing sound effects. Of course, playing with a buddy we were talking most of the time anyway.
