Hi everyone,
I seem to have developed a fairly interesting internet problem. When my computer is in use (i.e. the display has not been turned off by power management), I cannot access the internet or router (checked via ping requests). As soon as the display is turned off, I can access the internet anh router once again. The connection is wireless: WPA-PSK.
The internet started being unreliable a couple of days ago. It's possible a Windows Update affected it; I've tried System Restore but that was unable to restore anything.
I'm running Windows 7 build 7000 x64. I've tried disabling my internet security program (Windows Firewall is not enabled either), configuring all the network settings manually (rather than automatically detecting settings), disabling and re-enabling my network adapter, and of course restarting, none of which has worked.
My analysis so far is that the problem is not with the router (my laptop connects fine), but I have very little idea where to proceed from here. If anyone's got any ideas about how to fix it, I'd be grateful to hear them.
Thanks
Rob
