Hi guys,

Got an issue with my Nexus 4.

Back story: Replaced the screen myself a couple of months ago, when removing the battery I think I damaged/bent it a little. However the issue didn't manifest until a couple of weeks ago.

Essentially, my phone keeps turning itself off - and not powering down, but cutting out. Now whenever this happens (and at all battery percentages..), it drains the battery. Completely. I need to plug it in again to turn the phone on - perhaps if I leave it for 30 mins or so, then it'll turn back on, with perhaps 17-20% battery life.

It seems that this issue only occurs when I'm actively using the phone though - this activity can range from simply unlocking the screen to opening a web link, it seems completely random. However, if I just leave the phone in my pocket and listen to music, it's fine.

I've also recently moved to Canada, where the voltage is different - I've been using both a plug-in USB charger and my UK charger with an adapter; it doesn't seem to make much of a difference.

I've also tried a factory reset, to no avail. The device is unrooted, running Android 4.4.2.

Any ideas? I have a replacement battery coming in the post.

Thanks :)

For anyone wondering, replacing the battery solved the issue. The old battery was fairly knackered...
