Curious problem...

For some reason my internet connection will just drop. Programs like MSN and Vent will just disconnect but i can connect back to them straight away. Ive done a full system scan using Avira saying nothing is found and also Spybot found nothing. Restarted comp, restarted router, recycled the power on router and reset the router. Any thoughts?? Thanks

sorry. using Vista 32bit. using avira with standard windows firewall. not dropping @ router because my girlfriends pc doesnt drop. its not even a proper "drop". more a minor dip in connectivity. its also wired but i cant put my finger on it =<

now riddle me this. i got my girlfriend to shut her pc down, (shes running xp on a celeron 2.97) and the internet hasnt dropped yet (touch wood).

found out the problem now i think touch tood.

was ip conflict so much as me entering my own dns and ip add's and my partners pc having an auto config.
