What are the current best choices for 10" android tablets that are cheaper than an iPad 2?

My sister is thinking of a tablet and likes my Nexus, but also likes the iPad. What is there in the 10" android tablet market? It needs to be cheaper than an iPad 2 or she will just get one of them.

All I really know about is the Samsung Tab 2 10.1. The Note 10.1 is too expensive isn't it?

Is the Tab 2 10.1 that bad? I know its not new any more but she won't be hammering it, and an iPad 2 is hardly ground breaking.

TF300.

£399, Tegra 3 quad core, 1 Gb RAM, Jellybean, Keyboard, 32Gb on board storage plus SD+Micro SD.

While I understand all that, it will mean nothing to my sister. The first thing she asked when she had a go on my Nexus was "do you have Angry Birds?"

You can also get an iPad2 for less than £400, so fails my (well, not mine, my sisters) criteria.

Well I did acknowledge that earlier, the post was a reply to Rimsy regarding VFM.

Strumpusplunket also pointed out what seems possibly better VFM.

Yeah I know, wasn't a dig. Just saying that I wont be able to convince my sister its good value because none of the tech stats will mean anything to her.

All she will see is something like an iPad 2, but more expensive.

Wimin, ey

I think it's hard to go wrong with an ipad 2. Perhaps not as versatile as the tf300 but would probably be a better bet for your average female. (forgive the sexist stereotype)

Stereotype is 100% valid :D

The iPad2 is the logical 'just works' device (my other sister recently got one, hence this sister now wanting one). But she still thinks they are quite expensive (which they are) for a device just for browsing the web on the sofa, hence the Nexus idea.

I think I will tell her to get an iPad2 if she can stretch that far, or a Nexus 7 if she wants to spend less.
