I've just been offered the chance to upgrade with a budget of around £300. Atm i am running a Barton 2500 at 3200 speeds, i've 1Gb Corsair pc3200 a 9800Pro, all on a Abit NF7-s. I think that the best performance increase would be seen in the processor departement, this is correct? If so, what would be the best bang for buck upgrade atm, or is it worth holding out for a while. Thanks for the advice,

Oli

Hold off for a while. If you've only got £300 then stay put 'till you can get a few more pennies togther. If you change your CPU you'd probably want to change your socket too. That means you'd have to change your gfx card. And with all that power drain you'd be looking at a better PSU...

So, hang out 'till AM2 is released and the Skt 939 prices should drop, maybe.

Agent.

thanks for the quick replies. I was thinking it may well be worth holding off as well. I wont have a lot of time to be building something until end of August, by which time it will have all changed, and maybe i'll have some more cash.
