Need More Input Please ?? CPU - PSU Ect

:D Hi Guys, I am looking to start my new build, currently have £800 saved
Already purchased the following items from OC

GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC)
Memory
Dell Ultrasharp 2407WFP 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Midnight Grey
Dell Monitor

Below is my current PC
Manufacturer: MICRO-STAR INC.

Hard Drive: Raptor 74G 10,000 RPM - 250G Spin Point
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GS 256Mb DDR3
Monitor: Dell 2407WFP (Digital) 24" Wide Screen

I will remove the raptor from the above system and add it to the new one though please know that I am looking to buy another Raptor as my main hard drive for quick game load times
Western Digital Raptor X 150GB WD1500AHFD 10,000RPM SATA 16MB Cache
Raptor

I will buy Windows Vista as the operating system

I need the following
CPU
Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
Intel Core 2 DUO E6700 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.67GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

Not sure which one to go for £100 difference between the 2 though if there is not that much more bang per buck between them I think I will go with the 2.4. But if you were to tell me that the 2.67 was a much better option than I will take your advice.

Is the stock cooler a poor option for cooling if so could you which one I was looking at the is this a direct fix onto the motherboard as I do not want to start chopping up bits to make it fit.
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 775)

Motherboard ? Asus Maybe
Graphics - DX10 - Prepared to wait if you think I should ??
Power Supply ?
Case ?
Logitech G15 Gaming-Grade Illuminated Keyboard - Retail (UK Layout)
Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound (3.5g)

I think I need atleast another £200 to finish it but if you guys can point me in the right direction it will help, the questions I need help with at the moment are the following Which

CPU

PSU

MB - I love this board but no way am I paying £250 for it
Asus Striker Extreme nForce 680 (Socket 775)
Love This MB

Then if I need to save a few more pounds I will, not that bothered about the graphics at the moment as more DX10 cards will appear soon and I'm hoping the price will fall when the new range of ATI cards hit our shores

Thanks for taking the time to reply

6600 everytime, as you can easily overclock past the 6700 anyway.

I have the EVGA board and I am very very happy with it. So I would recommend that one.

The Arctic cooling HS&F fits on the board very nicely and would recommend buying that and the OEM version of the CPU.

I have the same Memory too and have the 6600 running at 3.2Ghz with no problems at all. I know it will go higher but I am not a greedy person :D

Good choice with waiting for the DX10 cards to come down. I am doing the same.

I am a huge Lian-Li fan now so would recommend one of those, but a case is such a personal choice I would recommend you go with one you like the look of, as in the end its the thing YOU are going to have to live with.

Not to sure about the PSU. Though I would deffo get a modular PSU, keeps everything clean and tidy with nice air flow. I have the Hiper 580W and love it, but I know others have had problems with it, so 50% would say yes and 50% would say no. I know the Seasonic PSU's are getting a good write up atm.

Enjoy!
