Hey guys, looking for some input here.

For me, console gaming has always been about getting the mates round, having a few beers and getting down to some fun multiplayer gaming!

I'm thinking about getting a 360 but would mainly be buying this for the mates/beer factor, rather than relying on singleplayer or xbox live

e.g.
- Mario kart, Streetfighter on the SNES
- ISS, Tekken on PSone
- PES, Tiger Woods, Gran Turismo on PS2

What are the best current and forthcoming multiplayer titles on the 360? (all the buzz at the moment seems to be about Oblivion, GR:AW + COD2 when it was launched...*EDIT but I know that these are single player or xbox live focused)

I'm really interested in this Table Tennis game that's coming soon, DOA4 looks decent as well - any other recommendations?

Thanks in advance

Oblivion is single player only, G.R.A.W is great online, as is PGR3, infact i would say PGR3 is better online than the single player.

Sorry, didn't word that too well :o

Yup, am aware that Oblivion is single player - will be checking out games on xbox live but that's obviously antisocial when the mates are round :)

Games like DOA4 are actually 4 player, I am also pretty certain that top spin 2 is also 4 players, though I have only played it briefly around a friends house, so cant be certain. GRAW is also 4 players. You could also try fight night, which is very popular among people.

Truthfully though, its even better to use the 360 on live. For example, have a group of 3 people come around your house, and all go on the same team on Perfect Dark zero (to name but one game that you can do it on).

Cheers for the feedback mate, didn't realise you could do that so I'll retract my comment about xbox live being antisocial :) Technology nowadays eh!

So, any tips on what's forthcoming that is going to cause a stir on the multiplayer side of things?

Well, really depends on what you are interested in.

The major one I play online is Perfect Dark, but am looking for another one. A lot of people are loving GRAW, as far as I know (and people please feel free to correct me) you can have 4 players on the same console.

As for upcoming games, really depends what you are interested in. I suppose if you like football (I dont play sports games cause I dont like them) then the new FIFA would be online, and I suppose allow multiple players on the same console.

Also, you get to use headsets, so if you can convince a friend to buy a 360, you can talk to them in real time as they are playng the game. Your friends list will quickly have a few people added though, and you can start a private channel with people you are playing with, so that you can discuss tactics or whatever. Very awesome TBH.

Yea, Xbox live is great and all, but a bonus of console gaming is that you can have 3 other people on the same console, unlike on pc's. PDZ was alright, but nothing compared to how much fun me and my mates had on Halo, the game we play now is FIFA, as a single player game it is pretty crap, but when you have got other people round(it is usually 6 - 4 people on and 2 people watching) it is SO much fun. We take it so seriously, it is intense, when a goal is scored, the whole street hears about it! I would totally recommend it, I dont like football games or sports games and I dont play footy much, but it is a lot of fun, good for banter. If burnout is multiplayer, that might be worth a shot, not too sure on that though. Fight night might be good fun as well, but it is only 2 player.

Well chaps cheers for the input, I went and purchased a 360 premium with GR:AW for £299

Picked up Fight Night and another wireless pad for about another 60 bucks so that's my weekend sorted

Your variation of currency baffles my mind!

To be honest, any multiplayer game on the 360 is good fun if you have people you can actually take sense too, like most of the people on here.

Weve had a load of great PGR nights in the past, and more recently tournaments for Fight Night, probably one for Top Spin soon and we have had a good few GRAW nights of late.

As long as you make an effort to get the OcUK guys on your friends list, youll never be short of someone to play against.

Im gonna miss it at uni, unless i get it sorted.. gonna email them the actual ports and ask ASAP.
