Current MBP specs

A friend is hopefully getting a MBP for a present mainly to be used in music production.

What specs would you guys recommend? Iam pretty sure the main program he will be using is logic.

Also is there a refresh coming anytime soon?
 
While there will be a refresh this year, I would say that it will be further away than the rumors are suggesting. The latest rumor has come from AppleInsider, as the only source. With the iPad 3 release soon, the focus will undoubtedly be on that rather than new MB refreshes.

Not saying there isn't a refresh coming, but it will probably be about 4 months or so, maybe a tad more.

Personally looking at a new one myself; I desperately need a laptop, and am deciding between the Air and the MBP!
