current rig ->> i7 rig

Hey all im looking to upgrade my pc to an I7 rig, to my understanding this is a mobo, cpu and ram change

now im pretty sure i want the 920 so that im ok on
The one im bad with is i have no idea what ram is good or which mobo is good. I am an avid OCer (current rig is e8400@4ghz) so i probs want a fan option as well

Im looking to spend anywhere 600-800, some advice (and cheap but good ocing) is what im aiming for

Current rig:
e8400
asus p5q pro
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C5 800MHz SLI-Ready Edition Low Latency Dual Channel DDR2
power colour 4870
520w modular corsair psu
antec 300

soo any advice on not only what to buy but anything i will need to do when i put together the new rig

Whoa, doesn't that E8400 do enough for you? I'm running a lowly E6600 and still running the majority of games on High

I'm running an even lower E4300 and still running games on high

You'll only be able to get a very basic i7 rig with your budget. You'll probably be sacrificing a decent graphics card.

You pretty much have very few options for i7 as its new technology i.e. socket 1366 and DDR3 motherboards and Triple Channel ram.
A good mobo would be Asus P6T Deluxe, Gigabyte DS4 or the Biostar X58 (apparently someone got 6ghz on the Biostar, but can't imagine it being very stable :rolleyes:

)
But Corsair Ram is probably the best way to go. Or G.Skill.
