Current shape Honda Civic information

I'm going to keep my eyes on it, see what engines they get etc but i'd hazard a guess there will be no change in the engine line up

Back to Civics, i'm wondering when the new shape is going to be unveiled? Surely its soon, the usual cyle of five years is coming to an end and i'm wondering if any of them will be getting turbo charged engines

I've seen those concept drawings before and they dont match Auto Express pictures of what looks the same as the current version other than the head lights are slightly different

The US version of the civic is very different to our one:

it could well be that they are porting the EU version across the pond. That'd explame the testing of a "new" car and revealing of a very familiar looking concept at the Detroit motor.

there's also a chance they are moving the saloon version this way as well:

or maybe (fingers crossed) were getting the Jap Saloon:

Have to say that I'm a little surprised at the comments and comparisons between the Golf/Jetta and the Civic. I kind of expected some of the more senior members on here to be able to see beyond the soft touch plastics that VAG do very well.
Personally I have no confidence in VAG beyond their ability to tart up distinctly average mechanicals with their parts bin specials.

Some food for thought. Warranty direct gives a score for the Civic that's half that of the Golf (lower is better).

Personally I thought that the Civic I drove ran rings around the Focus and Golf that I've tried. The diesel was miles more smooth, certainly so than the VAG, which appears to use a tractor engine. Additionally, the Civic felt like a precision instrument to drive, IMO eclipsing the Focus and making mockery of the newer Golfs fully independant suspension.

I still haven't driven a Golf or a Jetta so I can't compare how they feel to drive compared to a civic but I did think the focus had a really nice feel, steering was nicely weighted and had a satisfying gear change - it was incredibly easy to drive smoothly - the Civic's gearbox reminded me of the plastic gear stick you get with a logitech G25 ... (I'm hoping you know what I'm on about otherwise that's jibberish :p)
