Current tablets? Tablets around the corner? I need help

So I've had a few Android tablets and recently got rid of my Galaxy Tab 10.1 because I was sick of not being able to play HD, imo nvidia really annoys with the lack of neon in Tegra 2.

Apart from the lack of HD video and lack of a (built in) HDMI out the Tab 10.1 was pretty much perfect for me, looks, size and those speakers are great.

So I was looking to get a Transformer Prime, but there's a lack of deals out there, I really don't feel like paying £400+ for the prime which for me is a £150 premium for the two lacking features above. The biggest fear though is that I'm going to miss out on a price drop as deals are so sparse I feel like one is about to drop.

The problem is that I really miss having a tablet but almost all I can find is Tegra 2...

Rather than ramble on any more I'll just ask, is there another lovely slim tablet with a great screen that can play me some 1080p and has HDMI out?

Also... Is there anything around the corner I should just wait for, kind of already waiting for the Transformer infinity, but lord knows when that will be out, I feel like the prime will drop in price when it does. I thought the TF300 might be a good deal but for a lesser specced system it's £400 also!!

Anyone got a xoom 2? Any good?

Hopefully someone can decipher that and come to my aid.

£300 galaxy tab2 10.1 - ICS out the box.

uses TI Omap 4430 so can play back HD MKV. No hdmi out though.

transformer prime had a god awful speaker.

When I had the Prime the quality was ok but the max volume was too low - was drowned out in a noisy-ish room.

The tab 7.7 on the other hand is way louder - and still clear when loud.

Asus Computex next week, so they might be announcing a new tablet or a release date for infinity at least i hope

Another TF300 owner here. I thoroughly recommend it!

Despite the odd placement of the speakers; the sound levels and quality are amongst the best I've heard on a tablet.

I'm in a similar situation to you, and the only answer I've been able to come up with is iPad with Apple TV. The screen quality on it is incredible, it's well made, and the app support is a long way beyond Android.

That said, I'm holding off for now to look at the Asus Infinity's pricing. If it's reasonable, I may well plump for that, as I'd rather be on Android.
