Running Vista Ultimate.

System used as my primary gaming platform along with being used for watching TV/Videos etc.

Currently have a AMD 64 3000+.. hoping to upgrade to x2 4200.

Games should run smoother in theory. And you can have more going on in the background and still play. Considering how cheap DDR2 is at the moment tis a good upgrade.

Are there any major problems with vista 64bit ? Was going to upgrade to 4GB ram myself but heard vista 64 isn't the most stable of OS and not worth the hassle ?

x64 Vista is very stable. Any problems are almost always driver related, and they're getting much better.

i see a massive difference in Vista x64 with 4 GB of memory :D

Oh and touch wood its very stable . I have OEM Home Premium for OCUK bout £55 and its excellent. No need for Ultimate unless you want the Business features.

I find x64 more stable than x86 if you have a high spec PC.

Hope this helps.

"X-Fi series Vista driver to correct issues with 4Gb RAM based on Auzentech Prelude's drivers"

Well that link is for problems with the Auzentech Predule..

Well go and look yourself, there is like 1000 threads on WWW about it, I had to go walk dog and eat my dinner.

Search in the Creatives forums, that was simply 1st result.

do yourself a favour and go 4GB (preferable with vista 64), 2GB under Vista is horrible if you do anything meaningful with your pc.

for the record i have no problems with 4gb and X-Fi under Vista either.
