Got the cd this week. Had never heard of them until recently but pre-ordered this as well as ordering The Difference between houses and homes on the back of a few songs on myspace.

Was disappointed with Houses and homes and nearly cancelled my pre-order but so glad I didn't. Happy Hollow is a superb album.

Anyone else giving this a listen?

I've listened to this quite a lot recently, and I have to say that some of the songs are outstanding. Previously I've had 8 teeth to eat you, Burst and Bloom and The Ugly Organ, from which I originally heard their sound. I was taken by songs like Sierra, Excerpts from Various Notes and The Recluse, They're a great band, Happy Hollow is just as good as their previous albums in my opinion, Retreat! is an amazing song. :)

I have everything they've ever released. Best band EVER, Tim Kasher is an absolute God. Happy Hollow is the best album of 2006, and I saw them at King's College last week and they were AMAZING.

Get all of their stuff, but the best stuff in my opinion is Cursive's Domestica, The Storms Of Early Summer, Silver Scooter Split EP and Happy Hollow. The Ugly Organ is good, but feels a little short. Sierra is still one of my favourite Cursive songs though. Check out A Red So Deep, Tides Rush In, After The Movies (off Such Blinding Sights For Starving Eyes), and Break In The New Year. All amazing.

**** yes. Seen them last night. So good. I've never danced so much. And they are possibly the loudest band I've ever seen.

am I missing something?

I find them very hit & miss. I love 'Some red-handed sleight of hand', 'The Casualty', 'The Recluse' and some others, but some of them are just boring. Good for a mix CD or owt, like.

Oh well, rather than just messing up the thread - may I ask what they sound like, and anybody want to give me some tracks that I should listen to to get the taste of things, ive felt like I need a new lease of life to my music collection lately...
