Curved Screens

There seem to be curved TVs appearing in the shops, I wonder if any monitor manufacturers have plans for a curved monitor? Would anyone consider using one as their primary display?

Not my cup of tea, I think they are curved to hide some flaws.

One big manu's said it will not be releasing any at the big show a few month ago (cannot remember all details)

linus did a review on a TV and did not like it.

Samsung showed off a curved monitor at CES. Not sure what happened to it mind.

I would much rather they get normal OLED 4K out first, think curved might just be a gimmick like 3D. I wouldn't mind getting 3D for myself but I can not wearing stupid glasses on top of my actual glasses thank you very much.

Personally i think a curved monitor makes a lot more sense than a curved TV screen.

I never use the 3 on my monitor, I do like the 120Hz however

Yer, it looked proper sweet but if I remember correctly, it was OLED and still in concept stages.

Curved must work otherwise people would have all of their screens parallel in multi monitor setups surely?

Yep, when you're sat that close to a monitor having it curved makes much more sense than if you're sat 5m away from it.

~4 years ago someone had a go at a curved monitor iirc it was 3x 1280x900 panels - it didn't take off.

Thanks, I found that one looking on the internet this morning, the price may have been part of the problem $6500. It was also very thick so the back looked more like a CRT.
