Hello there, im just wondering what everyones feelings are on the cataclysm hogger. Is it a decent build for its price or could I build better for cheaper?

The system will be used to dual box on wow though remote access; the system will only be used for running wow nothing else - currently saving up for a laptop to do the same job but im just looking for a rig to keep me going for another 3-4 months. Im willing to pay about 520 pound - anyone have any ideas or suggestions.

cheers.

thanks for the replys, that build is better than the hogger right - should run the games better.

Also the system would be getting bought first thing on monday. Just to add that on there :P

thanks again.

I know it would be a lot easier, aswell as cheaper. How ever - Im in the army so i cant really drag the desktop around with me, the desktop with the remote access is just a temp fix until i can save the required amount of cash to get a laptop and i refuse to pay another 600-800 pound though finance!

Could the extra 60-70 pound not go towards something slightly more efficient for the needs. I mean if the case will help cooling ect fair enough, I'm not entirely sure on choice of upgrading the case.

Sorry if im sounding like a ungrateful douche right now; but that's not the case i just want the best performance for the coin I guess.

On another note, any idea how many copys of wow that build would be able to run at one time; I duel/multi box a lot so currently run from 2-5 accounts at a single time. Think any of the specs there will be struggling (graphics arent an issue; if there is fps lag or anything ill blast them down onto low)

thanks for the help so far (:

Very impressive; thanks a lot for all your help I have a day to think over it and have a look around see if i can spare a few pound here and there.. try zero my bank account - lets hope I don't jump on the wrong train on the way back to garrison this time.

The ram with the build - its fairly good right; (not that you'd recommend me junk) what i mean if there was any spare cash laying around thats probably where i'd be throwing it into next?

thanks so much insanely helpful here.

Builds are pretty identical - thanks a lot for that.

The Corsair ram seems like the shot.. ive heard a lot of good things about their ram.

If i were to clock the processor would you advise better cooling at all - or just take it up slowly and it should be good?

thanks.

So, i had decided to go for the cheaper option.. i like the sound of being able to clock it pretty sweetly too.

how ever looks like i bought myself a few days to look things over as i sent the money to the wrong account and need to wait 2 days to get it back to my account. Magic.

yea I3 build, It would be kinda senseless paying an extra hundred or so when really im just going to be using the desktop for 3-4 months.

Question; whats the main diffrences between the two I3 chips that were spoke about in your first build Kiiyzoo and in pohly's last?

Back again; ive had a change of heart.

I've had another payday after looking at the bank and seeing that you can pay with finance over 12 months interest free I've decided to go all out how ever there are a few things i'd be looking for.

Once again the system is pretty much getting made for world of warcraft; i want the system spec'ed somewhat future proof in the sense that in 6 months ill be wanting to buy another 2 monitors there for probably dual up gfx cards; so the case will have to be big enough as well as probably add water cooling however ive had nothing to do with water cooling up to now also a powerful enough psu to run it in the future.

Apart from that the builds pretty flexible most that will be getting ran at the same time is probably 3-4 copys of wow; web browser; itunes. Aslong as it can run with no issues ill be singing.

New budget 1000-1200 (no os/monitor needed)

Thanks in advance.

thanks for that Jack it looks pretty nice. The budget is a little flexible after reading up on the solid state hd's I think maybe upgrading that so that its big enough to fit wow on it as well that would benefit me a lot as that is going to be the primary use of this system.

anyone else got any ideas :P

uhm..

Okay so, i was somewhat afraid to post here I've been changing my mind heaps about this build - and im sorry for that some might think im here messing around wasting time how ever i can assure you its totally not the case.

I got a phone call today and im due back to garrison on monday the 6th so i need this system fast to get it running in time.

I'm a freak when it comes to wanting the best top of the market ect ect. The system i've speced bellow is what i beleive would make me mad happy. I know - way over speced but hey!

Okay so my question whats your thoughts on the spec bellow; im abit unsure on the psu also i would rather have the 12gig ram aswell.

this system comes to about 1800-1900 if you would strongly recommend a huge change please tell my why and throw the spec at me :P

Thanks a lot for all the help so far.

yea im pretty gutted the haf x is out.. i was really wanting it hah - but like i said time is really a factor here. Ill switch the HD, also about the gfx card - i was kinda wanting that as 6-8 months along the line i can get a second and maybe xfire them.

Also thanks a lot for going over the ram thing for me; sounds like 8 gig is the shot there then.

I guess ill keep reading up on the cases; (the haf x seems to be all that anyones talking about! - gutted hah)

thanks guys.

ok, i clicked that trust thing; what am i supposed to do with it hah; give positive comment?

Also im still looking into the two HD's myself as well as the cases.. the cases seems to be no better than eachother really whats still in stock i was looking into the silverstone rv-03 but thats also out of stock.
