I've bought some 550 paracord to sleeve most of the cables on my system. Hopefully once done it'll look like so...

Presently I have a corsair TX650V2 non modular psu. Question is, do I make up sleeved extensions or butcher the existing wires? Also, does anyone know what size heatshrink I will need?

The only problem with extensions is that you have to hide loads more cables. It also depends how much you like you power supply warranty :D

Not to sure about the heatshrink though.

E: You could look at other builds and seeing what size heatshrink they used :)
I have a TX650M and will probably end up grabbing some pre made extensions.

its easy, but time consuming, used 3mm braid and 3mm heatshrink, the heatshrink fits on rather easily and shrinks down for a very tight fit. looks great once its all done. i wasd more worried that my brand new psu might be a dud as i done the cables before i even tested it lol

I value the warranty enough that extensions definitely make sense. I'd only need to sleeve a few connectors which doesn't make it so bad. I intend to replace the corasir with a seasonic platinum modular psu at some point which will make life a lot easier. (plus I've got some old antec modular cables that i can rewire to suit the seasonic)

A quick search suggests 550lb paracord is 4mm in diameter. 6mm heatshrink will be ok. 4:1 or 3:1 though? (4:1 shrinks to 1.5mm, 3:1 shrinks to 2mm so it's only 0.5mm)
