Custom game icons

Hey, long story shorter; I use my desktop for game shortcuts and some of them are unbelievably ugly, like Street Fighter IV. I've found nice ones for most of my games on Deviant Art but they are only .png files and don't work when trying to change the icons to them, does anyone know how to make them work? Thanks.

Also, you can use big icons in Windows and increase the resolution of your custom icons accordingly, if you wanted bigger/clearer icons

I use a few of the icons from this guy Blagoicons All a similiar style and look lovely on the desktop

Yeah that Blagoicon has a great selection. If there isn't something on there you want though, just go on DeviantArt and search, for example; 'World of Warcraft icon' and browse, you'll find quite a few. Or you can make one, the software is great, literally converts any png into ico, it only has 30 days trial though, then you have to buy it for £30.
