Hi all,

looking at yewen for this one, does anybody know roughly how much it would cost to get a PC7+ custom anodised?

looking at keeping a black exterior but getting the interior anodised a deep red colour

or if its even possible without removing all of the internal structure and doing that seperately?

Cheers

Well, there is someone on the forums who does this, and a PC60 costs roughly £300 but it its a super profesional job.

If you did it yourself I am not 100% sure of the costs involved.

Also the £300 includes the case, I will try and direct him here if he signs onto msn :)

Okay guys just to clear some stuff up. The internals can be anodised providing it is 100% aluminium - its a lot of work though - everything needs to be separated, so cages need to be removed, plastic/steel taken off, rivets taken out etc etc. It does look good when done though :)

Two tone isnt exactly possible but you can fade anodise, but fade anodising cases is really really difficult!

cheers for clearing that up, i'll just have to make do then hehe.

i got the idea from the thread about the "cases that'll beat an ATC" where one was black outside and bright red inside, and thought a lian li would look awesome like that!

Is it possible to anodise a PC-V1000; do you recon it would look any good?

It would look amazing, but I think phil said it was very very dificult to do or impossible due to the way it is put together. I am wondering if he can do a blood red v600

It is put together in the same two pieces, which makes me think the v600 will be a no no.

I am still pestering him on MSN to do me a v1000+

He wont give in :(

Indeed that would!

But would the motherboard tray be to prone to damage due to the very nature that they get scratched. That could lead to it looking very poor after a year/5 builds time.

When you anodise aluminium it strengthens it - scratches and marks are still possible but its a lot better than the original effort.

Yeah I'd love to do a V* series case too but because Lian Li have designed it in two "L" shaped pieces it means you need to take the case apart entirely - and I mean down to every single rivet and then anodise it, and then put it back together, its a ridiculous amount of work. It makes me think they've done them this way on purpose?

Thats the spirit :p

Im just thinking if a v1000b+ with its sides anodised red would look ok, but then again it ruins any subtlty of the Lian Li design.

Phil, Once a panel has been anodised is there anyway of removing it?
Say for example it got scratched and you wanted to rub it down to remove the scratch, could it then be anodised again?

That would look very very nice, as long as it was the same shine as the black, as that would be the only issue if they were of different finnish levels.

See Phil you could do a v1000 :p

Although maybe the v600 done like this could be a budget entry into anodised Lian Li's.

Would be a cracking case, and not to much effor to do im guessing?
