Im gonna be doing custom wiring for my build and when i was looking at the wires for the mobo as they are now, i noticed that some of them have two going into the same connecter.

So im guessing that i have to mimmic that in the custom wiring aswell?

yep, different PSUs' have different pin-outs - So you'll need to copy like-for-like.

or you could trim it short and make a long extender with straight 1 to 1 pin cables

Another thing i just came across is some wires are 18 gauge and some are 22 gauge.

Will my wiring still have to be the same combo of 18/22 as the orignol wiring scheme ?

I think ill stick with my originol idea and copy the connections of the cable that came with it, making it just long enough.

You should consider it for things like GPU if you need more than a single 6/8 pin... I had 2 GPUs with 2 x 8pin but the PSU cables run the second 8 off the first. Basically avoids having so many plugged in at the PSU end.

Wiring it as an extender has the same effect visually as it's hidden in the PSU side but less hassle as you can just make straight extensions. Few of mine connected to the PSU and the braided run as extension cables:

If you haven't thought of it already you can simply reuse the wires that are in the stock connectors... Remove, braid, replace, repeat. It's a good way to keep track of the wiring also.

I had already bought the 18 gauge before i read somewhere that i could have re-used the standard cable.

Whats the best way to seal off the end of a sleave , im using a lighter and trying to compress it when its pliable.

Looks a bit tacky aswell i think, doesnt help that i got 4mm sleaving instead of 3mm either.

Now you mention it I think you posted before and it was me that said reuse it haha!

Best way is to crimp in to the pin, unless you are doing sleeved but I prefer sleeveless... if you strip the wire coating back a little longer and crimp the sleeve over it in to the wings on the pin and blob with a lighter quickly it's very neat.

Alternatively you use some sacrificial sleeve and melt with the lighter before cutting it away and repeating.
