Hi all, looking for some advice on wether to change this setup, i have between £1000 and £2000 to spend, less i spend the better but want a good gaming machine that will last good years like current one

In my current pc only new thing is one and half year old graphics card, still think its a good card, wanted to keep it and get another and SLI it but cant find it now, is getting a similar card an option and then the better card will run at same speed as old one or is this not possible?
Its a
Gigabyte GTX 670 Windforce 3X 2GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card

Here is my current choices, would you guys do it different? would you get graphics card or get new one?

I play lots of movies/music and wanted good sound card, have a superb pair of Sennheiser headphones too so wanted that card for also ease of plugging in headphones, is it a bit too much?

Nice one, really like that! couple of questions

I was going for 2 x 128gb ssd and stripe them for faster performance, is that not better than one 250gb ssd?

Oh i forgot i have a 2gb 6mb second hdd :)

Could i get two of the ram kits and make it 16gb?

HI all, decided to wait for the Haswell refresh and now decided on this combo, would it all work?

Intel Core i7-4790 3.60GHz (Haswell) Socket LGA1150 Processor

Kingston HyperX Beast 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit

Asus TUF Sabertooth Z97 Mark 2 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard

the 4790K is not the haswell refresh is that correct?

Not too fussed about over clocking, I'm getting the corsair liquid cooler, all the other item at the start of the post im still getting, just going for newer board proc etc

Super i like it, i still think id go for the Corsair case and cooler

I want to go to 16gb ram, would my kingston choice from earlier work with this board and proc?

Also, in your opening post, you mentioned you have a graphics card you'd think about reusing in SLI with a new one. All the above specs after your initial post include graphics cards, all significantly better than a 670, but you'll not be able to SLI your 670 with them I'm afraid.

Hi David, I was meaning if i got another 670 but it was different spec to my own could i still SLI it...

But not too concerned about that now, i'll either get a new one or keep the 670 for now and get a new one later..as its still a good card :)

I'm concerned that you're complicating your build with 2 SSDs for RAID for a debatable performance increase given you appear new to building computers. You certainly can do it, and it's not that hard, it's just adding additional complexity for very low benefit. Personally, given two identical SSDs I would not RAID them even though I know how as it's just not worth it in a normal PC, or if buying a new PC I'd go for a single larger SSD over several small ones, but of course it's up to you :)

I have two SAS drives just now striped and they are a lot faster together, i just assumed two ssd would be the same!
