Might seem like an obvious question but wanted to find out the proper method.

How to do you crimp push-in molex/sata connectors?

I know it sounds silly as the method is in the name, but they are not exactly easy to 'push in'. The only way i can think of is using something like a push down tool for RJ45 connections but not sure if this will work..

And if it does, how does one sleeve a molex cable? Do you terminate the sleeve leading up to the connection, or make a passthrough.. e.g. A or B: pictures below.. harder to explain by words.

B:

Ideally i would like the heatshrink-less method, but if B don't work, then A is the only way.

For the tool i tend to use a small flathead as the tool itself is not cheap unless you doing a lot of them. The tool is called the Molex Insertion Tool which you can get here.

As for the method, i would suggest A (since i don't sleeved them and i just leave them bare).

Cool thanks. I have a molex extractor set. Doesn't include the one above, but there is a tool which looks very similar but is used to remove 4 pin fan connectors.. i'm sure it can be used here. Will give it a go
