Hi guys

Im quite interested in the whole idea of custom water cooling but dont know anything about it at all so my questions are

1. What would i need exactly to run a custom water cooling setup for my CPU and GPU ? A quick spec up of bits an pieces would be greatly appreciated if any of you kind people would do that :)

2. The CPU pin on the motherboard that detects the CPU fan on it, how do you get around that or do you still need something plugged into that even if you have a watercooling setup ?

Many thanks.

Well you will need:
  1. radiator
  2. pump
  3. res
  4. cpu block
  5. gpu block
  6. tubing
  7. either barbs or compression fittings
  8. distilled water
  9. fans
  10. TIME

Not sure if i have missed anything but im sure people will add to this list. Also you dont have to plug anything into the cpu fan header.

You will probably have to go into the bios and set the cpu fan to disable/ignore to stop getting the message about no cpu fan (board/manufacturer dependant).

As for equipment, you only need a gpu block if you want to cool the card as well as your cpu. You also dont always need a res, a T line may suffice. It depends on space.
If using distilled water you will need a silver kill coil or anti algae liquid.

Thanks guys ill do some looking on youtube see how these things work. I guess running custom would be better than the H70 im on now ?
