Looking at some of the customizable 'gaming' mice such as the Razer range etc.
They mention they have various buttons for use wth MMO, but was wondering if they can be customized for any keys/ key combinations?

Would be useful for some of the apps I use if they can. Can they also be set to multiple key strokes on a button, i.e. Shift + Key etc?

Thanks
Andrew

You can do this, for the G500 you can set a macro to execute commands, i created a simply macro to open task manager, then bound that macro to one of the side buttons, see here.

Beware that the Razer Naga is not as good as they advertise.

The 12 buttons on the side are automatically bound to 1234567890-= or the numberpad equivelant and cannot be bound seperately.

Thanks, I'll be aware of the Razer mice then. The Naga was one I had looked at. The Logitech looks as if they would do what I want, particularly if the G500 can do macros.

Dont get me wrong the naga is a great mouse and work well for what I need but was a little bit disappointed when I found out that it really only had 5 customisable buttons.

Mouseover macros work really well for healing too so not that bad at all.

Logitech G700 is a really good mouse and has 13 programmable buttons.

Only thing I dont like is I hate wireless mice

Note your comment on wireless mice.
Any particular reason? I also found most gaming mice are wired.

I prefer wireless as I always seem to get the cable stuck under the corner of the keyboard or monitor! Is there something to avoid this, or is it a 'user' thing? lol

g500 does macros.
fir work i use a cooler master storm. can do scripts (it else etc) as well as macros. through use of pressing a "storm" button, and then one or two other buttons, you can have 32 bound functions.

Yeh there's something out there called a 'mouse bungee' roccat sell a cool one with spare usb's on it think its called 'Roccat ROC-15-311 Apuri Active'. I've also seen different type where its like a paper weight but for a cord - steelseries sell em' 'SteelSeries Cord Holder'

I prefer to use one I found from raptor-gaming from a very long time ago called 'Raptor Gaming Mouse Bungee V2'

not all razer mice, my lachesis lets you change ALL the buttons to what ever you want, type out full macros

Its just my personal preference mate with wireless.

I just prefer to not have to worry about the battery life and stuff. Also if the power gets too low while playing a game it will start doing weird and wonderful things usually then you have to use it wired anyway or stop playing

Hi, thanks agiain for the responses.
Found the Roccat bungee thing and have decied to give that a go along with a Roccat Kone+ as it seemed to have a good lot of buttons and programming ability.
Hope it will be OK! I usually end up going with the not so obvious choice! Lol

They also have a new keyboard shortly which seems to have very good macro capability.

Razer Deathadder - No other mouse comes close, AND currently overclockers give you a MASSSSSSSIVE pad for free, it's literally a meter wide and 45cm tall...huge and is amazing for tracking!

Do ittt!
