Customizing Word autorecovery

We use a program (not me personally) called First Advisor Office. Its a large financial managment program. There is a plugin we use that links it to MS Word to allow employees to mailmerge data from First.

There is an error with First that means the autorecover appears with a mailmerge document stuck in it all the time, sometimes many autorecover documents. It doesnt cause people problems, apart from it being very annoying. My boss has spoke to First customer support who have more or less told us to ignore the autorecovered documents or turn autorecovery in work off all together!

Is there a way to customise the autorecovery console in Word 2007 so that any documents with say ''mailmerge' or 'merge' in the subject are not shown?

Thanks

On, Off and Default Location is about as much as you will get without diving into a custom VB coded solution for the document.

Just turn it off.

VB code was what i was thinking. Unfortunately my VB coding skills are very little (i.e none) People still use autorecovery so can't really have it off

Why would they use AutoRecovery.

Either your systems are unstable or your users are not trained.

I have never had to use Autorecover here at work, however there are a lot of people who use First. Its a massive package with many different areas. There seems to be bugs one of the main ones being that mailmerging large amounts of data to Word crashes Word sometimes.

First is constantly being updated, the most recent upgrade we did was on the friday just gone. This, combined with the fact that 60 or so people use Citrix to get into First (and Outlook, Office and a huge paperless datastore called Watermark Volume) means there are chances that Autorecover is needed sometimes.

Volume is also connected to First
