my friend has been shipped a rather large musical instument from inda.

It was opened and damaged most likely by customs due to the way it was repackaged.

What can be done about this? Is it the couriors fault or customs?

I dont know what it's called.

But it's like a piano but smaller.

Probably the same as 5 fat ps2's stood on top of each other and as heavy as 5 xboxs.

Yes, their fault, but exile? That's a bit harsh.

My first thought as well :D

I'd suggest claiming on the couriers insurance and let them deal with Customs and Excise about the fact the package was opened and damaged(may have been badly packed anyway so still couriers insurance).

You just owned yourself :p

(It changed to Revenue and Customs last month when Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise merged)

It was only last month? I thought it had been that way for a while :/
