Cutting gym mats

Hi all,

For my home gym, I have quite thick gym mats and for them to fit in the room, they will need cutting.

Any idea on the best way to cut these? Don't want to hacksaw then if that's not going to cut it so to speak.

I imagine a very fine bladed hacksaw/jigsaw should do it ok.

Score a line with a Stanley knife and then cut into the score line after you let the mat bend or flex over the edge of a table.

I'm voting for Stanley blades too - hacksaw teeth will likely bind up, or leave a pretty messy edge on such material.

I have six of those mats and I cut them to shape using a stanley knife.

Get a decent one so your edges are nice you will go through a few blades also

I strongly recommend these as an alternative:

They are exactly the same, only cheaper and thicker.

They cut perfectly fine with a Stanley knife as Mrthingyx suggested.

I have 4 of these mats and have cut one of them to size in a matter of minutes after thinking it would be a nightmare it was no problem at all.

Actually recently helped friend's friend finish their small local gym, we simply used one of those large Stanley knives.
