I'm laying some bathroom tiles soon which are 400x400mm, so a diagonal of 566mm. I can't find a single manual tile cutter that can cut tiles with that diagonal length, even the super expensive ones. Am I missing a trick or what?

:o Good luck with scorers I can't use them... :D

If you go for a traditional style cutter PPE is a must, don't take a chance without goggles because stuff seriously can go flying!

Will that be ok for porcelain tiles as well? We got them for a bargain on clearance so I can't be making many mistakes or mis-cuts either :p.

I dont see why not. The reviews are pretty positive.

just get the ruler held down secure and take your time scoring correctly. It should break along the line.

Although I cant be responsible if it goes wrong lol :D

I've got a wet cutter but would it not be equally difficult to cut diagonally on that (it only has an edge for parallel cuts)? I guess I could just draw a line along the diagonal and cut it freehand.

I wouldn't try cutting that size of porcelain with a hand scorer. I used one of the above and they work very well, albeit not that cheap. You can hire an equivalent for about £40 a day if you don't want to buy.

Thanks, but "Max. tile length for diagonal cut: 440mm".

We use a `big clinker` in work
Good tool but as I said cutting diagonally is a pain, especially when you snap the tile along the scribe
