Any advice on what tools to use and how to do it? circular or square holes?

Im looking at adding a Fan on the floor of the case as an intake and maybe one on the side as another intake. Planning to upgrade all my Case fans to Sharkoon Silent eagle 2000, so am also looking for a Fan contoller that can manage at least 4 of these and run them at full speed if needed, fir in a 3.5inch bay. any ideas?

Im also guessing im gonna need some fan gards for the case? Or just make some screw holes and then drill out some venting?
should I use internal or external filters?

And finally, ive seen a panel that come with a fan included for the eclipse, though the OCUK piccy shows it as silver? I thoiught it should be black?

Using the floor mounted fan as an intake is a terrible idea. Your case will be full of carp in no time at all, even with a filter. To be completely frank, Akasa have has several attempts at updating the basic Eclipse chassis and at no time did they consider putting anything in the floor.

Also - when cutting the side panel, do bear in mind that it's only 1.5mm aluminium and if it's not supported during cutting it's likely to buckle badly. Also, it's liable to rattle like a very rattly thing once the fan starts to run. Akasa's own 120mm side fan panel has significant bracing around the fan to dampen the vibrations.

In short, I think what you want to do is a bit questionable, and I personally wouldn't do either modification. It will lessen the value of the case at resale time and I doubt it will help cooling at all.

I wouldnt bother cutting any of the panels, on my eclipse i added a scythe kama bay with a 1300 rpm fan for extra intake, wont spoil the look/value of the case. If you really need more air intake/exhaust consider akasa's own side panel or contact their sales and see if you can source a top panel from an omega case, as this has a fan vent built in.
