Hey, I have an MSI Neo-2 P35 Board, this soundscard and these speakers. There all installed fine, on a clean install on Windows XP Home SP3.

Problem is, sometimes when I turn up the sound via the control dial on the speaker, I lose complete sound. It can come back randomly like a few minutes later, or the next day. All the cables are pluged in correctly, I don't have a clue why it does this.

Any idea?

Thanks.

Firstly, have you installed and updated all your sound drivers?

Try testing your speakers on something else for a while and see if you still get the problem. If so, you might have a damaged jack or wire. If not, then try using your onboard sound for a little bit to see if it's your soundcard or not.

This is caused by poor contact inside the potentiometer if you could be bother to open it up and spray some contact cleaner or isopropyl alcohol on the knob this will usually fix it but will eventually come back as it is primarily caused by wear out.If you know how to solder it is best to replace it, it will cost a few quid to change it.
