Trying to rewrite my cv, its 5 years old and pretty irrelevant.

What the general consensus these days with layout, what to include etc.
got 8 years relevant experience over two jobs. With training you have to have to apply for the job. as they've requested certain training, would you put that at the top, so they can easily check or list in the current job section.

With all that I assume all the irrelevant jobs wouldn't be put on the cv?
how about education? put on at the end? but just say like 9 GCSEs, 2 A-levels and a degree, non of which are really relevant other than the general GCSE in English and maths preferred.

are hobby sections still put on, never really understood that section.

Brief details (i.e. name, nationality, contact details etc...)
Work experience in descending order.
Followed by training / courses / education in descending order.
Additional facts that make you stand out.

That's pretty much the layout of mine.
