CV question

Im going to be applying for a few jobs over the coming weeks and i have to send a cv.

My question is to do with cover letters, is it essential to send these along with a cv?

Finally, if it is, do i page the cv one document i.e. cover letter page 1, cv 2,3 etc

Do you put the cover letter in the main body of the email?

Cover letters aren't essential though I'd advise you do send one.
I'd put it in the email with a header, and leave the attached CV titled appropriately.

Just write it as you would a normal email, and have your CV as an attachment.
