CXC Stutter Noise

Hi All,

Had my CXC for a little over a year, 18 months probably, but it has developed a weird stuttering noise:


Obviously on the video your own volume level will determine how loud you think it is, but it is loud enough for me not to use the device. I can hear it at normal listening volumes when I am at my desk. Also, excuse me knocking my remote at the end of the video.

Weirdly it does not affect the playback at all - it is literally just a stutter noise when the disc is spinning as far as I can tell. I have tried many CDs and it does it on all of them so its not the media at fault.

This happened a while back but after then my wife put some music on the other day and I thought it had gone away, but now its back again. The CXC has had less then 100 hours of use I would say.

Googling this issue and the device does not bring any results. I have spoken to Richer Sounds already when it first happened and they advised to bring it in, but by the time I have had time to do so COVID19 has happened. Just looking for some advice really as to what may be causing it and to see if its something simple I can resolve myself.

Well RS picked up my CXC last week and it is already back with me fixed. Cannot really fault that service. They picked up for free, sent to CA, fixed, and back. They given gave me the packaging I needed to safely send it.
 
Sounds like good customer service. Is it that click you're talking about?

Yea the video is mine and they have resolved it.

One odd thing is that after pickup I heard nothing until a text this morning saying to expect a delivery. I had planned to give them 2 weeks before contacting as per instructions online but seems there was no need.
