I just recieved this DVD and am totally bummed to find out that the original Japanese theme music awas included rather than the awesome soundtrack from the english version that was on video! Goddamit!

This anime is awesome though. Very gritty and violent and loads of fun! Sengoku is the shiz! If you get a chance to see it then definitely check it out! Watch the english vhs version though!

Why? Are you a jap fanboy? Do you speak Jap? Have you even seen the english subtitles on the dvd (Broken english subtitles!)? Have you heard the absolutely crap jap music on the dvd?

The english vhs version is far superior. The characters are made 10000 times better because of the awesome english dialog - that is what makes the series.

The english version owns the jap based dvd. You can select jap audio (with english subtitles, or should I say engrish?) or english audio. The english audio has the same voices as the english vhs and tv version, but unfortunately the jap original theme music not the awesome english theme music. The jap music is terrible, and really does kind of ruin the episodes. The original music is typical jap pop-rock ****. I was so disaapointed when I got ready to watch ep. 1 and after the intro was waiting for the awesome guitars to start shredding and some bloody nobby jap cack music came on instead. Suffice to say, I will never look at sengoku the same way again!

i kinda agree that the Jap music is crap compared to the american one but who cares, there still the same episodes. i have the DVD and the ones when they were shown on TV years ago and ther eidentical bar the intro music, which in no means spoils the feel or anything about the series.

personally i grew to like the JAp version but i still prefer the US one, but either way cybercity is a classic series no matter what bloody intro music is on which btw lasts about a 2minutes. Mute the tv for 2minutes and watch a classic series.

Dont get me wrong, I still love it, but was ultra dissapointed when I heard the jap music, not partly because it is incredibly bad jap music! Yes, the episodes still rock, but music is important to me. Plus, the first time I ever saw this series it was the music that really grabbed me and made me watch the rest of it. Hopefully it will be released at some point with the english music!

oh yeah and BEnten blatantly is the best, sure hes a big dress wearing freak, but hes totally nails!

that razor wire thing that comes off the ring he wears is well solid! way better then the rafael from turtles weapons that sengoku and gogul use.

Yeah he's pretty cool in a cross-dressing freak kind of way! His weapon is actually a Monomolecular wire. Sweet weapon, but you'd have to be a friggin Jedi to wield it!
