Ive just recently reinstalled pdvd onto my system, previously i had bought pdvd 9 ultra, (disk copy). This was since upgraded to ver 10 via download. Upon going through the install and update, when i try to play a film on blu ray, pdvd automatically closes. Doesnt matter if it is open and i press play on the control panel, or insert a disk into the drive and let it auto run, the pdvd icon pops up in taskbar and the program loads on screen, but then proceeds to close.

The optical drive is working fine as it's reading game/music disks ok. Pdvd is installed on a 1TB samsung drive i have for other stuff as my os is on a 120gb ssd. System is a new i5 3570k build, had no problems with pdvd on my previous i7 920 system. Os is windows 7 64 hp, pdvd fully upto date. Thanks for any advice.

Do you have DEP enabled?
Right click My Computer- Properties - Advanced System Settings - Advanced tab - Performance subgroup Settings button - Data Execution Prevention.
If it is set to "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select" then click add and navigate to the PDVD exe, click ok on everything to get back to the desktop and try again.

I had a similar problem a while back with Arcsoft Total MediaTheatre, as soon as it tried to load a bluray it would drop out, turned out the Java VM triggered Windows's DEP engine and shut it down, once added to the exception list it worked fine.

Bit of a revival here. Tried BloodyL's suggestion, no luck. The strange thing is, dvd's are playing fine but still no joy with blu-ray.
