*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Is it best to play this without any mods for a first playthrough? Or are ther some compulsory mods even for first playthrough?
Honestly some of the mods just make the game better. Like the relationship expansions with Panam and Judy. Lots just improve the visuals even further. All worth it.

I did a playthrough on ps5 a couple of years ago, and just doing my first PC playthrough with graphical only mods

I joined nexus and use vortex to download them, as you download and install them, they get installed to the game ready to play. There are some core mods you need as a minimum and then you can add what you need but always worth checking the requirements for mods as some will ask you to install others to work

Once I've done this playthrough, I'll probably do another as a female V with the City of Dreams mod

Hi,

So I've been playing World of Warcraft for past couple of years, prior to that RDR2, and prior to that GTA V, many years after it's initial release.

I had my eye on Cyberpunk around release, but I just noticed too much general feedback about it being buggy, unfinished etc etc
Is it now worth playing?

HECK yes.

I had little issue on release but it's utterly a "desert island steam deck" game imo with many layers of polish since.

i consider it one of the best games ever made now that it is properly finished. its a masterpiece.

Interesting take on DLSS 4.5 and C2077 at dlss performance

TLDW, 4.5 using preset L @ performance is almost as good as DLSS K @ DLAA [Ray Reconstruction off for both as its not implemented in beta for DLSS 4.5]

Nice. We are essentially getting all the extra performance for free while AMD releasing AI tools for their gamers causing them to have a meltdown :p

Said this from the very beginning, that "premium price" for dlss and the overall rtx feature set in general has paid off, fsr is no longer "free" (never was in the first place anyway since development costs are built into the gpu costs) but 20xx, 30xx all enjoying their fine wine in "hundreds" of games..... Can even use ultra performance mode and have it look just as good as FSR quality. What a time to be alive #NEXUSWASRIGHT

I still don’t really understand this preset stuff although I did watch a video the other day that helped. Are you not only supposed to change the override to the one you want (I use nvidia app) but also change the DLSS setting in game?
So using preset L in the above example behaves differently if you have the in game setting on performance/quality etc? I thought the named ones were just running a preset (letter name) behind the scenes for whatever version of DLSS the game shipped with.

It’s not terribly clear all this stuff

This is the video I watched, it focused on 1440p but I knew 100% more than I did before I watched it.

To be clear, DLSS 4.5 is only released in Beta at the moment and some features are not yet implemented in it, such as Ray Reconstruction and the new FG.

So if playing with beta versions of pre-sets is not your thing then dont opt in to the beta.

But if you want a look at the new stuff and opt in then you have to swap which pre-set is active, depending on what DLSS setting you are using. Currently the only real benefits to L and M in most cases are when you use Ultra performance or Performance mode in DLSS. For balance or quality the benefits are small and come with a fps trade off. Going forward I'd expect improvement to the balanced and quality versions of DLSS maybe they get their own pre-set. And all of this should operate automatically with no user input required.

Yeah that was covered in the video I saw and I saw about disabling RR :)

Tbh even in beta it seems to work better than my last attempt with an AMD card, but I guess I could have just been unlucky there, again.

One of the best games out there.

Some tips:

Sell weapons that are tier 1-2-3-4, keep tier all 5 weapons for later disassembly.
Disassemble tier 5 weapons, to collect and accumulate lvl 5 components, used for both upgrading weapons and cybernetics.
Disassemble tier 5 clothing, to collect and accumulate lvl 5 components, used for both upgrading weapons and cybernetics.
Don't sell items used to for upgrade things.

Ideally, looting might seem like a fun thing to do, but.. I use the mod for looting. Becoming a loot goblin. Set to just 8 meters, so I don't have to do this imo very annoying walk-up-to-and-bend-down-to-pick-up-stuff routine.
I do press the F key to loot items however the looting function picks up all stuff in visual range, and also the stuff that already was scanned, within 8 meter range.
Loot mod only picks up things that have been highlighted by the uh things showing up on a scan, i.e things scanned and also in visual range in front of you.
Loot mod does not afaik pick up important stuff, those have to be picked up normally.

I play with who-knows-how-many-mods. Maybe 30+ mods. Game is a little ustable at times with all those mods, but crashes doesn't happen frequently, so I don't mind.
If you do have a hard crash with many mods, best not load all mods at one time, try 5-10 mods at a time, to see if you can get past the intro video.

Also, game seems more interesting with netrunner mod, that no longer allows you do do quickhacks on everyone you meet by default.
For many mods, using the NexusMods mod manager is a must imo. Afaik requires an account but its free.
Night vision mod and a flashlight mod is also nice.
Sometimes the enemies are seemingly impossible to kill off, so I reduce the difficulty to get past them. Like the mechs when entering Dogtown, playing with a mod that makes enemies more difficult, really, really spongy stuff that heals up faster than they take damage.
Unsure if I was supposed to start a big fight at the entrance of DogTown, but that is what happened.

At some point early on adding mods, I ended up with some weird glitch where the highway didn't render in front of me, but somehow I managed to fix it, unsure how. Buildings also popped in and out uncontrollably, but it got fixed somehow.

I changed some hotkeys..

Left Shift = scan (instead of Tab)
Backspace = healing (instead of default key)
Flashlight mod = side button 2 on mouse
Sprint = side button 1 on mouse (as opposed to left shift)
Throw nade/cybernetic implant effect = middle mouse button (as opposed to default key)
Tab = now used to toggle minimap with mod
F3 key = nightvision

Favorite weapon..
Lvl 5 MA70 HB + big mag + big mag (lmg)
(updated to)
Lvl 5 MA70 HB + iconic explosive mod + big mag (lmg)
Psalm 11:6 (assualt rifle)

Btw, when crafting basic weapons, there's a mod that easily allows you to select a skin of preference, so the weapons don't look all alike in the inventory. Typically 1+3 more skins to choose from, first one being default skin iirc.
Haven't figured out if there is any mod that allows you to rename each weapon in the inventory.

Still haven't started this :D

Any tips for running on a 9070XT? FSR4 is all good on the latest 26.2.2 driver, I assume?
