So on the recommendations of several people on the board, I bought Deus Ex from steam yesterday (£5.99 goty edition), downloaded and installed a hi-res texture pack and started playing. I can't stop now! This game is excellent - the atmosphere really reminds me of the old snes Shadowrun and I'm really back into Cyberpunk games. I have DE2:IW sitting on the shelf and will play that next but does anyone have any recommendations for good Cyberpunk games I might have missed?

System Shock 2?

edit: beaten :p

off topic slightly but why do people consider Cyberpunk to be dead as a genre, when it clearly isn't.

Actually most of the things Cyberpunk was based around are actually out there now in some share or form:
Advanced Ai
Walking talking robots
Mega corporations
Nuclear fall out
Cyber warfare
Portable even wearable micro verging on nano technology
Laser weapons
Drones

The list goes on

Isn't it a shame that cyberpunk in games has never really gone anywhere. Nobody seems to be interested in making the genre at all yet so many people love it. I'm sure if there were more SS and DE type games out there, people would be all over them.

Don't play IW after completing Deus Ex. It will make you cry.

How's about the original Syndicate, if you can get it to work?

Doubtful if you can even get it to run anyway as its a big steaming pile of ****.

I've been trying for 1 month and I've managed to play the first level once, it then crashed again and now it won't load up at all!

I'm trying to get it to run on Win7-64 atm without any joy. Think I'll have to rebuild one of my spare PCs as Win98 and give that a try.
