Hi all,

Have a major problem with my Cyborg V7 keyboard. Got it last year for Xmas and it has always worked fine until the past week or so.

Anyways, the ! key works when it wants to, the bracket signs don't work and lately when in game, mainly BO2, the esc key doesn't work so I cannot change classes or leave the game and the q key isn't working either, so I have had to change my key bindings and its weird for me. Also it freezes up sometimes where I cannot hit the cyborg key and change into game mode where the start key is disabled, and sometimes my media keys stop working etc etc

I have uninstall the usb ports and reinstalled them, uninstalled the keyboard via device manager and reinstalled, i have reinstalled the drivers and software for the keyboard and nothing seems to be working...

PLEASE HELP

Report back and let me know! I've got this keyboard also so we can compare things to see whats up. Could just be a dead keyboard to be honest, or an issue inside it at least.

quick question.

I just plugged in the keybords headphone jack to the pc.
Is it normal for the mobo to think that headphones are connected when there is no headphones connected to the keyboard?

sorry for the hijack:eek:

I would have thought it's just a passover port. But I'm not sure. I haven't used them at all as the wire for my headset is far too long so I need to have it a bit further away!

yea just tried it in my partners system, same issue, so at least I know its the keyboard and not my system thank god...

any idea on what I can do, as I cannot play BO2 or any of my other FPS games until I get a new keyboard...

I am looking at replacing it with the sidewinder x4

Just as some information, if you do think the keyboard is faulty Mad Catz offer a two year warranty on it (first year through the reseller, 2nd year direct) so it might be worth contacting them to see if they have had this fault reported before and possibly arrange a swapout if it is confirmed faulty.

If possible try the keyboard on another PC for a while to confirm it is the keyboard at fault and not a driver conflict (had issues myself with a cyborg driver), Mad Catz do have a UK office which should be able to help though :)

I have contacted Mad Catz and now just waiting to hear from them, I hope that they can fix it under warranty as it's a great little keyboard and I don't want to loose it

Good luck with that, I bought a Cyborg RAT3 and 7, never again. After about a year of use they both just stopped working, mouse cursor would move uneven/stick. Contacted MadCatz and never got a reply back for nearly a month, I had actually forgotten about it and binned both mice.

They said I could send it to them for repairs but warranty only covers 1 year so I would need to pay for it, glad I binned them lol.

Did you try blowing air/cleaning around the sensor? Quite a common issue due to the twin eye laser that even a strand of hair across it can cause issues. I'm using a RAT9 right now which my friend said had the same issues that you described which I confirmed when I first tried it. Quick blast of compressed air and the eye lash that was stuck in the sensor is gone and it works fine. I don't get on well with the shape of them (using logitech mice for 10 years) but most of the high end stuff should have a warranty card saying it has a 2 year warranty.

it should be a passover port, but every time I plug it in realtek audio manager pops up. Wanted to shorten and sleve my headphones and plug it into the keyboard oh well

I wanted a R.A.T but they seem to have stopped making stuff like the cyborg usb gold stick that can be converted to left handed use.

Yep, tried blowing, hoovering and compressed air. Nothing, you ccould unplug it for like a week then plug it back in, works perfect for 10 minutes then breaks again.

Just cheap **** imo, better off buying it from a more credible company
