Evening all,

After some advice if possible.

Just got into mountain biking, and have currently been cycling around flat common ground near me and have found Swinley Forest in Bracknell (been there once and planning on going,a lot more!

Is anybody else aware of anywhere in the berkshire / Hampshire area that is good for a blast on the mountain bike?

I live in Newbury but anywhere nearby would be good :-)

Thanks!

Unless I'm using it wrong, I have downloaded Strava and every route seems to be ~ 0.5 to 1 mile... Which doesnt paint a very comprehensive route ... If I'm using the app wrong please enlighten me :-)

I'm not an expert on that part of the app but it sounds like you're looking at segments rather than routes. I think there's a way to find a segment and then see what route people that rode that segment took....but I'm not at my PC to check on the method.

Perhaps someone else can suggest something :)

Cheers French!

I've only been using the app on my phone to look, does that have more of a limited functionality than the website?

ridewithgps is another good one, can put in a start location and distance/elevation you want to ride, but you'd probably need a garmin or similar to follow the routes.

Cheers for the advice!

I have a lot of options to look into it would appear.
I also logged in to the strata website and like the others I can view full routes (seems odd the iOS app I cant)

Heat map on strava is useful.

Also extreme map is good for showing local trails, found a few that way for stuff that isn't advertised
