Hi there

I am looking to get a Cyclocross, commuting and some off road and have the 2 in mind:

GIANT 2015 TCX SLR1 £1300

CANYON INFINITE AL 8.0 £1200

Or possibly the Canyon Infinite AL 9.0 £1500

Which from the first two is best for the money?

There's not much between them really.
Both have the same groupset and similar frame spec.
Giant has slightly better brakes, canyon has slightly better wheels but I think that most people wouldnt notice any difference.

Looks like the canyon has mudguard mounts, which might be useful.
Otherwise, go for whichever you like the look of.

I've got the Canyon Inflite 9.0 AL and I think it's worth the extra £200 over the Giant for Ultegra and hydraulic brakes.

I've a lovely bike to ride, both on and off road. For commuting I'd get something that can take guards (though the Canyon does need specific guards).

Out of the first two, I'd pick the Giant. Dual pivot brakes compared to what're basically BB7s, an Ultegra RD compared to 105 on the Canyon, and thru-axle on the forks. Wheels on the Giant may be heavier with the higher spoke count, but they're also likely to stiffer and less prone to spoke breakage.

It was my second choice after the Canyon. The geometry isn't as good for me. There is a big thread in the commuting section of BikeRadar about the bike and it's well recommended.
