I haven't posted this in the Sports sub because what he achieved not only as a footballer but as a human being transcends Football itself.

Along with Laurie Cunningham and Brendan Batson he laid the foundation for Black players at the top level of Football all whilst suffering hideous racial abuse from the terraces and players alike (see if you can find some original period footage, it's monstrous :eek:) but managed to remain a decent human being and rise above it.

I have been lucky enough to meet him a couple of times at dinners and he was always an absolute gent.

RIP Cyrille 59 is far too young :(
 
A trail blazer during dark times. Lead the way for many black footballers, lets not detract away from him also being a top, top footballer.

RIP.
 
What a man. Its great to see how much of an inspiration he was to so many players - black and white.
Sad that he had to put up with what he did though.
