Step 1:
Follow the link on the first page to install Microsoft's latest DirectX, Click the link, Install the downloaded exe, Reboot.
Step 2:
Browse to your (likely same path if you're using Win7x64) C:/Users/<your account>/My Documents/My Games and right click the Crysis folder, select Properties. Select the Security Tab. Below the Group or user names box,"To change permission click Edit. Click Edit. in the Permissions for Crysis window, Security tab (only tab), Click Add. If it isn't there already, place your cursor in the Enter the object names to select type EVERYONE exactly. Click Okay, if you did everything right, you should not see any additional dialogs. Click Okay again, and once more to apply the permission change. Close the folder.
Step 3:
If you are running AVG 9, These will be exact steps, if you are running another form of Anti-Virus, you will have to figure it out based upon these instructions.
Open AVG's Resident Shield (or whatever type of active code execution prevention service your Anti-Virus might be running), Click the Manage Exceptions Button at the bottom of the window. In the left pane, if it is not already selected, select Resident Shield Directory Excludes. On the Right, Click Add Path. Browse to, and Select C:/Users/<your account>/My Documents/My Games. Click Okay. Close your AVG back to the System Tray.
Finished!
You should now be able to open Crysis, customize settings, graphical and system both. Occasionally changing the resolution or one or two options would still make it hitch up, but it recovered with patience, i believe this is unrelated to the problem and has to do with the magnitude of the game's horsepower requirements from the computer.
Analysis: The game was unable to write to the folder, whether prevented by permissions, anti-virus, or lack of communication through DirectX, All bases are covered here. I take no credit for anything other than the step-by-step. The information here was all from the posters prior in this forum.
Thank you all. Hope somebody finds this useful!
