I was at Cyrus Audio offices today in Huntingdon.

It was like heaven.

Unfortunately they didn't have any free bits they needed to get rid of. Shame :(

Pointless thread, but thought someone out there might be interested. :o

I dunno. I like the look of Cyrus equipment, but i get the impression that it's not particularly interesting, and their amplification isn't that powerful.

Go to a place called "Sounds Of Music" in Sussex. They have some really, really, really impressive kit there. A pair of speakers (can't remember the make/model) which me and a mate had demo'ed to us retailed at £30,000!!!

BTW, what were you doing at the offices anyhoo????

My cyrus kit is amazing. For the money I doubt you could do better. They're small but pack a punch,

My cyrus 3 is a really lively 'party' amp which has huge amounts of bass and fun within it. Suits me just fine! Their kit is often slated, but I'd listen to cyrus stuff very carefully before buying anything else.

EDIT: by the way I reckon the cyrus dad3q24 is probably the best £350 CD player about. If you can find one, go for it without a doubt. Cyrus buffs tell me that it rivals the CD8 and is only really bettered by the 8x/DACx and CD7Q (rare as rocking horse poo).

I bouhgt a cyrus III amp / psx-r psu / Arcam Alpha 6 CD and a pair of Mission 754 floorstanders about 10 years ago and have not seen the need to upgrade yet. I think Cyrus gear has always been thought of by some as a bit to clinical, while Arcam gives a warmer sound. Personally I find the Cyrus III / Arcam CD to give a nice balance, especially with Mission speakers. For many years the Cyrus III was considered one of the best.
