anyone have any tips on prepping the panel and cutting it with a trio .

i just bought one as there only £36 you get a straight edge tool and the metal cutting bit.

basically i want to cut a side window hole without respraying the panel or scratching it.

Was wondering the same mate cos after looking on a well known auction site from a well known high street catalogue store, they are at a great price.Plus them come with a straight edge and circle cutter.Iv'e just ordered mine, going to practice on an old case.

Dremels are a waste of money. The cutting discs disintegrated into a ultra-fine dust that probably doubled my chances of lung cancer.

I'll stick with the trusty jigsaw and handdrill combination.

use the diamond coated metal blades m use a mask and goggles...

I find a Fine blade Jigsaw is much better because you don't wobble lol

thanks , just ordered some u channel for 1-2mm metal. good idea think i'll practice on an old case.

something todo this weekend while snowed in.

The trio is more like a mini router, with oddly shaped tungsten bits.It is shaped like a mini jigsaw. It is a bit like the dremel attachment for removing tiles/grout.It looks like an awsome bit of kit I can't wait for mine to arrive.

just got mine setup, Cpl things to remember the bit only cuts in one direction , I also found another screw to go in the arm that steadies it as with just one that is supplied its very easy to start cutting a straight edge and the arm wave around quite a bit on a long cut.

just got some scotch tape wide blue semi tack and blathered it all over the panel to stop scratches then I measured my window I wanted to cut out ( taking into account if your fitting the window inside or outside if it binds on something internally.

taking it to work tomorrow as there's a nice work bench there, just need to make a wooden frame to sit the panel on to clamp it to the bench so it aint moving all over the place while i'm using the trio.

prob end up buying a nice quality file to finish the edges off etc before buying the Perspex.

I think most people put tape all over the panel where you aint cutting (leave a gap for where the window is going to be) then use that as a guideline.
I've cut one window with a dremel on a old case, I am never going to even attempt it again, it looked like crap ;;p
