D-LINK 2740R not connecting to BT Business

Hi guys,

Seeing as the BT business hub is pretty pants I thought I'd use a spare D-Link that I had and was working fine at my parents address.

I plug it all in, log in and check all the settings are as recommended on the BT site but it just gives me the red light for internet.

I've triple checked the username, its exactly the same as on the BT router and it's set to ADSL2+ but it just won't accept the internet connection. I've tried a different cable but still no joy.

Is there a setting that BT Business requires that I haven't seen?
 
The BT Business ADSL connections I've dealt with have been no different from normal domestic ADSL connections. There have been no problems using non-BT routers.
 
Not sure if it's the same for ADSL but for FTTC you have to put something random for the password and not leave it blank.
 
Yea I have just put "password" in the password field and put in the username but it just won't connect to the web. It was working fine on a Zen connection last week and I've done a reset so all settings are standard.
Tbh i'm stumped but I will try and get screenies tonight.
