I have my current internet connection set-up with the modem and NETGEAR WNR2000 (v2). I found a D-Link DIR-615 hidden in my storage of network/computer accessories and peripherals.

This means I have both the NETGEAR WNR2000 (v2) and D-Link DIR-615 (Hardware Version D4 & Firmware Version 1.00VG).

I've heard the D-Link (with version D4/1.00VG) has terrible wireless unless you upgrade to D-Link's original firmware/upgrade and install DD-WRT CFW (Custom Firmware). Although, I prefer to stick to original firmware since more support is given.

What is the latest firmware and when did Virgin start to publish the D4 version of the DIR-615?

Have they upgraded the NETGEAR to v3 of the WNR2000 series? I also know about the SuperHub, but it is still possible to get the stand alone equipment.

Could I bridge the NETGEAR and D-Link via wireless? Although, I could link them via wired. My problem is the wire/Ethernet Cable I could use is already in use by my XBOX.

You can bridge or repeat easily with DD-WRT. I would really think about using DD-WRT as it is actually very well supported online but not by Virgin obviously

Are you just wanting to use the router you found as an additional wireless access point, or is there something more complicated going on?

Both access point and complicated stuff/plans.

I have many devices to connect via wired and wireless.
