I am planning on getting one of these blocks for my E6600, but have a few questions. The first is have any of you mounted this block upside down? The barb placement is very funky and im not too keen on the way i'll have to route my tubing in a twist. I understand the outlet barb is at the top (right) for a reason; otherwise mavity would allow the water to move straight down if there was a barb on the bottom. The barb at the top allows the whole block to 'fill' up before the water leaves. Considering the placement of the cores on C2D's (they lie horizontally when in my mobo), would turning the block upside down make much of a difference anyway?

Last Q; can you turn the block a 90° in its bracket? Say if turning the whole thing upside-down would drastically hit my temps, could I rotate the block to allow the outlet to be on the top left instead of top right? In other words, is the block the same size/shape on each and every side?

Once its been bled correctly you can have it anyway you like. It is however much easier to bleed it in the correct mounting position.

Hmm, my outlet is below my inlet.. Didn't want to have my tubes in some awkward position and that was the best way for it! :)

Haven't had any problems so far!

you have the same motherboard as me logic, tell me how you get on with it as im planning on getting watercooling with a Fuzion block, apparently you have to detach the crazycool heatsink from the back of the motherboard.

Hold on all of you, get your facts right.

It really really really does not matter what way it goes as long you have the inlet being in the center ulike a few!

The base is bowed.

You are better off testing it to find in which direction gives the best contact to the IHS.

Cheap thermal paste, about an hour and some effort.

Fit, remove check the inprint.

Once it's covered sweet.

Marked the block with fine tip marker pen so you know which way to have it for the best contact.

If you need to have the top in this direct or that to get easy bleeding which the Fuzion is not or nice hose layout undo the sod and make the chnage but make sre the base is in the right location.

This is being done by a good few

Even the guy that test for D-tek!

I got a nice drop of 4c when i did due to a convex IHS and getting the bow into the best location!
