They feel almost as nice to hold as the 30D's ;)

I have a 30D and had a play with a D200 the other day - The Nikon is much nicer to hold :o Mind no wheel on the back and i do loves me wheel ;)

Congratulations on the new camera :)

I find the small wheels on the Nikon range far more tactile than the Canon thumbwheel/stupidly placed fingerwheel by the top LCD.

Canon make great cameras, but with inbuilt stupid ergonomic foibles that I can't quite grasp.

Enough of this blasphemy, it's horses for courses - this why one of the first recommendations is to get a feel for the camera before you buy.

Canon ergonomics suit me perfectly, I've tried a Nikon D200 not so long ago and it does feel solid, but a little too bulky in comparason to my 20D imo.

Good on you Joe, may your high ISO noise woes banish forever.

Good stuff, you'll love the D200.

Mine is currently for sale as I just got a D2x but I only upgraded for the faster autofocus as I was hitting the limits of the D200's too often. Other than that I thought the D200 was a superb camera :D

I was only pulling plonkers anyway :) I've had an extended play with a D200 and it is very nice. I'd have gone for one over a 30D if it wasn't for the use of extra lenses that we have at work.
