Warning dont buy the D2x if you have an Abit Ip35-pro as it wont fit.

The first Dimm module (with ram) blocks the card, stopping it being seated.

These also need a Floppy Drive to Molex 4-Pin Power adaptor (any ideas where these can be purchased - since OCuk doesnt appear to sell them you can link me.....) thanks!!

Can this be connected to the 2nd gfx pci express or does it neet to go in the PCIexpress 1 slot (re ip35pro) - I read on extremesystems (i think), someone had tried the D2X in various PCI-E slots, and it appeared to work in all.

Confirmation from someone in the know would be great....thanks

Gutted! I have the D2X on order and have the IP35 Pro. Does it fit if you remove the first ram module? Are you 100% certain it definately won't fit? I've been waiting ages for this card, Gutted!

Also I doubt it will work in the GFX slots - Thats what the D2 is for.

A PCIe x1 card will fit, and work, in a PCIe x16 slot. Also a 4x would work in a 16x and a 1x in a 4x etc. You can't get a 16x into a 1x or 4x though, obviously. :P

Mine arrived today and yep it does stop you using the first DIMM slot because it covers the bottom white locking tab.

It may be possible to squeeze in a stick of ram in the first slot if you remove the white tab but I don't want to risk damaging the card and I aren't that bothered tbh. Other than that the card fits fine and is running perfectly and I must say I am VERY impressed by its performance/quality so far - its a massive improvement from the onboard audio.

I couldn't because all the other slots are either occupied (Wi-fi card, 8800GTS) or blocked (watercooling rad + fans), :(

Thats why I've been waiting for this card for so long. The top PCI-e 1 socket was the only available space to me without taking the watercooling outside the case. I am happy now and I can always upgrade to 2x 2GB sticks of ram if needs be.

Yeah, its working great. Just going through my music collection and re-listening to some of my favourite tracks. The quality is so much better, as for the FLAC files!!!:eek: I dribble a bit everytime I get to one.:D
